The Jevremovac Botanical Garden, founded in 1874 on the initiative of botanist Josif Pančić, is the only botanical garden in Serbia. Spread over about five hectares, it holds more than 1,000 plant species, a historic 19th-century glasshouse and a Japanese garden, and is protected as both a natural and a cultural monument.
