A central three-hectare park between the Old and New Palace, laid out as the former royal garden and renamed after World War II. Mature exotic trees, sculptures and a monument to Ivo Andrić line its shaded paths, opposite the City Assembly. It is a quiet green break steps from Terazije.

Kalemegdan is Belgrade's largest and most-visited park, covering around 60 hectares on the ridge where the Sava meets the Danube. It wraps around the Belgrade Fortress, layering Roman, Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian ramparts with tree-lined promenades, the Military Museum, the Belgrade Zoo, sports courts and the landmark Victor (Pobednik) monument. It is the historic core of the city and its favourite spot for walks and river panoramas.

Studentski Park (Academic Park)

The Academic Park, universally known as Studentski park, is a small (about 1.5 hectare) green square in Stari Grad between Republic Square and the fortress. Landscaped in 1927 on the site of a former Ottoman-era market, it is surrounded by University of Belgrade buildings and holds a monument to botanist Josif Pančić. Mature trees, benches and a playground make it a calm downtown retreat.
