The local history museum of Zemun, in Spirta House on Glavna, the mid 19th century home of a Cincar merchant and banking family built to plans by the Viennese architect von Ferstel. The interior keeps its wall painting, family coat of arms, inlaid parquet and period stoves, while the collection traces the Zemun area from prehistory through the Habsburg centuries to modern times. The first permanent display opened in 1971 and the house is open to visitors again after a long restoration.
