Resurrected Shades (Vaskrsle seni): ballet world premiere 2026

The National Theatre in Belgrade opens its 158th season with the world premiere of the ballet Vaskrsle seni by composer and academician Svetislav Božić, choreographed by ballet director Jovica Begojev. The work follows painter Nadežda Petrović and her brother Rastko against the background of the First World War, with the theatre's ballet, opera chorus and soloists conducted by Đorđe Pavlović. Margarita Čeromuhina dances Nadežda and soprano Sanja Kerkez sings the Voice of Memory. A second performance with the same cast follows on 5 October.
