Stari Grad: the old town rooftops
Mama Shelter Rooftop is on the sixth floor at Kneza Mihaila 54a, on top of the Rajićeva shopping centre. The 500 square metre terrace looks towards Kalemegdan, has table tennis and table football, and serves mezze and wood-fired pizza. It is open from 7 a.m. to midnight, weather permitting, and signature cocktails cost 1,100 RSD. The rooftop is mostly walk-in, so come before sunset on Fridays and Saturdays.
Ebisu is a Japanese restaurant on the seventh floor of the Square Nine hotel at Studentski trg 9, with a rooftop terrace over the old town. It is in the MICHELIN Guide selection and is better suited to a dinner booking than a drinks stop.
Caruso, on the eighth floor at Terazije 23, is a Mediterranean and Balkan restaurant above the Terazije plateau, a few steps from Hotel Moskva. Its panoramic windows open in good weather. It closes on Sundays, men should skip shorts, and a reservation is a good idea for sunset.
Sky Bar Zukaya is the Asian rooftop restaurant and bar on the eleventh floor of the Lumière hotel at Terazije 4, near Republic Square. It is one of the highest bars in the centre.
Sinnerman Jazz Club is on the seventh floor of Dom sindikata at Trg Nikole Pašića 5 (take the lift by the café on the ground floor). By day it is a café with a terrace over the centre; in the evening there is live jazz, blues and rock.
Kalemegdan: terraces on the fortress
Kalemegdanska Terasa is a restaurant terrace rather than a rooftop, set inside the walls of Belgrade Fortress at Mali Kalemegdan bb, with views over the river and the city. It is open daily from noon to 11 p.m. and serves Serbian dishes, from about 630 to 2,750 RSD a plate. Book through its website for a table by the edge.
Boho Bar is an open-air lounge among the fortress walls, with cushions by day and a big sunset crowd in the evening. Pair it with a walk round Kalemegdan.

Dorćol: pools and wine
The Roof at Prezident Palace is on the tenth floor at Venizelosova 54, looking over the city and the Danube. During the day it is an open spa zone with an outdoor pool, open from mid-May to September depending on the weather; the bar runs from 8 to 11 p.m. Non-guests are welcome, but there are only about 50 seats, so book.
Wine Art Bar at Višnjićeva 7 is a wine bar and shop with a rooftop garden above Dorćol. It is a low terrace rather than a high one, but it is one of the few places to drink Serbian wine outdoors in the neighbourhood. Check the opening hours before you go.
Vračar and Slavija: views of Saint Sava
SkyLounge is on the eighth floor of the Hilton at Kralja Milana 35, near Slavija. It has an outdoor terrace, pan-Asian food and a DJ from 9 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. Dress is smart casual, and sunset tables go early from Thursday to Saturday.
The View is on the seventh floor of Hotel Crystal at Internacionalnih brigada 9, close to the Temple of Saint Sava. A movable pergola roof and heating keep it open all year, from noon to midnight, so it is the safest choice between November and March.
Palilula and Savski Venac
Heritage Rooftop is on the ninth floor of the Heritage hotel at Mije Kovačevića 7a, about 27 metres up, with views over the city and the river. The terrace is open-air but has a retractable roof for bad weather. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight, has live music on Fridays and Saturdays, and hotel parking is free when spaces are available.
Bigz 011 opened in November 2025 on the ninth floor of the restored BIGZ building at Bulevar vojvode Mišića 17, the first time the roof of this modernist landmark has been open to the public. The kitchen is Mediterranean, there is a DJ in the evenings, and it is closed on Sundays.
Novi Beograd and Zemun
Skyfall Rooftop Pool and Lounge at Bulevar Mihajla Pupina 165b is only on the third floor, so the view is of the New Belgrade skyline rather than a panorama, but it has two pools. In season it opens from 11 a.m. (10 a.m. at weekends) to 8 p.m.; entry is 2,500 RSD on weekdays and 3,500 RSD at weekends, and it is for over-21s only.
Cafeteria Gardoš is a three-level café at the foot of the Gardoš quarter in Zemun, with an upstairs terrace over the Danube and the Gardoš Tower. It is the easy option if you are walking the Zemun quay.
Practical tips for rooftop bars
- Most open-air terraces are at their best from April to October. In winter, check before you go or choose a covered rooftop.
- For sunset, aim to sit down 30 to 45 minutes before the sun goes down, and book at weekends.
- Dress is generally smart casual; hotel bars are stricter than café terraces.
- Views are best on a clear evening, so keep a rooftop night flexible if rain or the košava wind is forecast.
- Belgrade's buses and trams are free, so you can get to any of these without a car.
