Hakkında

Zemun's leafy central park, laid out in 1880 on the site of an old Habsburg quarantine station. Seven hectares of winding promenades shelter both deciduous and evergreen trees, several of them protected, along with playgrounds and a fenced dog area. It sits between two 19th century churches near the Danube quay.

Zemunski kej (officially Kej oslobođenja) is a 2.5 km Danube-side promenade running below the Gardoš hill through Zemun toward New Belgrade. Lined with cafes, restaurants and moored river boats, and frequented by resident swans, it is a favourite route for walking, cycling and rollerblading. The riverbank offers open views across the water and toward Great War Island.

Known as 'Belgrade's Sea,' Ada Ciganlija is a former river island on the Sava transformed into a 4-kilometre peninsula lake. It is the city's most beloved recreational area, drawing millions of visitors each summer for swimming, kayaking, cycling, bungee jumping, tennis, and beach volleyball. Restaurants, cafés, and sports facilities line both shores.

A forested 511 metre hill about 16 km south of the center, a protected natural area and classic day-trip picnic spot. Its slopes hold Ivan Meštrović's Monument to the Unknown Hero and the 205 metre Avala Tower, whose cafe and viewpoint survey the whole city. Springs, marked trails and dense woods make it popular for hiking.
