Stepin lug

The largest forest on the territory of Belgrade, about 8.5 square kilometres on the south-eastern edge of the city and roughly 13 kilometres from the centre.

About

The largest forest on the territory of Belgrade, about 8.5 square kilometres on the south-eastern edge of the city and roughly 13 kilometres from the centre. Known for decades as Titov gaj, it was mostly planted rather than natural and holds thirteen tree communities including cedar, cypress, fir, pine and birch, along with several drinking water springs. There are no houses inside it, only long forest tracks used by walkers, runners and dog owners, with wooden tables and benches in the picnic clearings. The usual approach is on foot from the terminus of bus 33 in Kumodraž, and the circular line 312 also passes nearby.
