Ada Međica

A wooded island in the Sava about three kilometres from the centre, roughly 1.1 kilometres long and 11.5 hectares in area.

About

A wooded island in the Sava about three kilometres from the centre, roughly 1.1 kilometres long and 11.5 hectares in area. There is no bridge, so visitors cross by small boat from the Novi Beograd blocks or from Ada Ciganlija. A path of about one kilometre circles the island past roughly a hundred stilt cottages and a few hundred moored rafts, and there is an open beach at the upstream tip. New building is banned, which is part of why the island has kept its herons, storks and quiet weekend character.
