Savski kej (Novi Beograd)

A three kilometre tree-lined promenade on the left bank of the Sava, running from Block 70a through Blocks 70 and 44 to Block 45.

About

A three kilometre tree-lined promenade on the left bank of the Sava, running from Block 70a through Blocks 70 and 44 to Block 45. It has walking and running paths, a cycle lane, outdoor exercise equipment, wide lawns and a long row of rafts, cafes and fishing spots, with a bust of Mahatma Gandhi at the midpoint. The area was dense riverside forest until the 1960s and most of the quay was built during the 1970s. The Novobeogradsko leto cultural programme is held here each summer, and small boats cross from the quay to the island of Ada Međica.
