About
Karađorđev park on Vračar stands on the 1806 encampment and burial ground of the insurgent army led by Karađorđe during the First Serbian Uprising. It holds the monument raised by Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević in 1848, considered Belgrade's first public commemorative monument, alongside a handful of surviving old gravestones. Today it is a shaded neighbourhood park with walking paths, benches and a children's playground.
