New Year's Eve in Belgrade 2026/27: Fireworks, Parties and Getting Home
Where to welcome 2027 in Belgrade: last year's free show on the Sava Promenada, club, hotel and kafana nights, what New Year's Eve costs and how the free night buses run.
Published 22 October 2026

In 2025/26, Belgrade's main free New Year's Eve celebration took place on the Sava Promenada at Belgrade Waterfront. The evening included concerts, a countdown on Belgrade Tower, fireworks and a drone show at midnight. The City of Belgrade had cancelled its own square concerts for security reasons. When we checked on 22 October 2026, no programme had been announced for 31 December 2026. This guide covers what happened in the last two years, indoor options for 2027, what it costs and how to get home.
Where the free celebration takes place
In 2025/26, the main public event was on the Sava Promenada, the riverside walk at Belgrade Waterfront. Mayor Aleksandar Šapić said on 11 December 2025 that the city would not organise a New Year's Eve or Serbian New Year celebration that season, citing safety concerns after the previous year's square event. He also said the Belgrade Waterfront company would hold its own celebration without the city's involvement. The city instead ran smaller holiday events on Republic Square, around the Temple of Saint Sava and in Tašmajdan Park.
The Belgrade Waterfront programme started at 20:00. Goca Tržan, Aleksandra Radović and Senidah performed, and the Boban and Marko Marković Orchestra closed the night. The last ten seconds of the year were counted down on Kula Belgrade (Belgrade Tower). Fireworks were launched from Belgrade Waterfront, the Gazela bridge and the riverbank, and hundreds of drones formed shapes over the river. Organisers billed it as the first drone show in Serbia.
The year before had two free stages. For 2024/25 the city held a concert on Republic Square with Haris Džinović, Željko Vasić and Marina Visković. Belgrade Waterfront put on a second stage on the Sava Promenada with Marija Šerifović, Jelena Tomašević and Tijana Bogićević. At midnight fireworks went up from Belgrade Tower, Gazela, the Old Sava Bridge and the New Belgrade riverbank.
The format changes from year to year, and so far the plans have been announced in December: the mayor's statement came on 11 December 2025, and the 2024/25 programmes were reported from 21 December 2024. Our New Year's Eve event page and the December events calendar will carry the 2026/27 details once they are confirmed.
Arrive early
Clubs, hotels and kafanas
Winter is the indoor season. Most splavovi, the floating river clubs, close or move indoors outside summer, so New Year's Eve happens in clubs, hotels and restaurants. For a club night, check the Instagram accounts of indoor venues such as Drugstore, KC Grad and Dorćol Platz in December. That is where Belgrade clubs publish line-ups and table bookings. Our nightlife guide explains face control, dress codes and table minimums.
A few New Year's nights are already on our calendar:
- Dragi Bravo New Year's Eve Party at the Belgrade Fair, from 21:00, early bird tickets 1,200 to 3,500 RSD.
- New Year 2027 with Aca Lukas at Hotel Metropol Palace, from 21:00, 8,500 to 29,500 RSD.
- Lepa Brena's New Year encore at the Hyatt Regency on 1 January, dinner included, drinks extra.
- Bojan Suđić and the Virtuosi New Year's Gala Concert at Sava Centar on 1 January.
Skadarlija, the old kafana street of Dva Jelena and Tri Šešira, is the traditional option. For 2024/25 almost every restaurant there sold a New Year's dinner with unlimited food and drink. Reporters found the Skadarlija terraces full on the afternoon of 31 December 2025, with restaurants running daytime parties. Restaurants, splavovi and hotels also sell a daytime "matine" on 31 December, where the music starts early and the party ends in the evening.
What New Year's Eve costs
Prices depend on the venue, the performer and where you sit. Reporting from December 2024 and December 2025 gives a realistic range:
- Restaurant dinners: some Belgrade restaurants cut their 2025/26 price from 60 EUR to 25 EUR, with food included and drinks extra. Well-known restaurants charged about 80 to 90 EUR for dinner with a welcome drink for 2024/25.
- Skadarlija: for 2024/25 many kafanas charged 150 EUR per person with unlimited food and drink, some about 100 EUR, and the most expensive dinners 200 EUR.
- Big concerts: the 2025/26 New Year's concert with Aleksandra Prijović cost 140 to 350 EUR per person depending on the seat, with drinks charged separately.
- Daytime parties: 55 to 120 EUR for 2025/26, depending on the seating zone.
- Clubs: one Beton Hala club's 2024/25 offer ran from a 35 EUR entry ticket to a 1,790 EUR table for 15 people.
Most packages do not include spirits, and drinks beyond the package are billed by consumption. Ask what is included before you pay a deposit.

Getting there and getting home
All regular buses, trams and trolleybuses in Belgrade are free, so you need no ticket on the night (see our public transport guide). The 2026/27 timetable will be published in late December. For 2025/26 the city announced:
- A weekday timetable on 31 December.
- Regular night lines starting at 22:00 instead of midnight, except lines 405N, 493N, 581N and 860N.
- Special New Year's services from 22:00 to 04:00 on lines 7L, 12, 15, 16, 17, 27, 33, 48, 53, 84, 88 and 95, with temporary buses 29A and 40A replacing lines 29 and 40.
- Last departures by 23:00 on the other city lines, while lines numbered in the 100s to 700s ran their normal timetable to the end of service.
- A Sunday timetable on 1 and 2 January.
To get home by car, book a ride-hailing app such as CarGo instead of taking an unmarked taxi outside a club. Our driving and taxi guide explains how the apps work.
New Year's Day
On 1 January Belgrade holds Ulica otvorenog srca (Street of the Open Heart), a charity street party with music, food and drink in Svetogorska Street. It took place in both 2025 and 2026, and in 2026 the city also held it in 15 Belgrade municipalities. Offices and banks are closed on 1 and 2 January, which are public holidays, so check opening hours before you go anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free New Year's Eve concert in Belgrade in 2026?
Not confirmed yet. When we checked on 22 October 2026, neither the city nor Belgrade Waterfront had announced a 2026/27 programme. In 2025/26 the free celebration was at the Sava Promenada at Belgrade Waterfront, and in 2024/25 there were free concerts on Republic Square and at the Sava Promenada.
Where can I see the fireworks in Belgrade?
In the last two years the midnight fireworks were launched over the Sava, from Belgrade Tower, the Gazela bridge and the riverbanks, so the Sava Promenada and the riverbanks around Belgrade Waterfront were the natural place to watch.
Does public transport run on New Year's Eve?
Yes, and it is free. In 2025/26 night lines started at 22:00 instead of midnight, and several central lines ran special services until 04:00.
Are 1 and 2 January public holidays in Serbia?
Yes. New Year is a two-day public holiday. In 2027 it falls on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 January.
How much does a New Year's Eve party in Belgrade cost?
From about 25 EUR per person for a simple restaurant dinner without drinks to 150 EUR or more for an all-inclusive Skadarlija dinner, and up to 350 EUR for the best seats at a big concert.
Does Belgrade celebrate New Year twice?
Yes. Many people also mark the Serbian New Year, by the old Julian calendar, on the night of 13 to 14 January. See our guide to Orthodox Christmas and Serbian New Year.
